Four specimens of the T-shaped short-limbed shear wall were tested under low-frequency cyclic?lateral loading. The mechanical properties and failure modes of the T-shaped wall were analyzed based?on the experimental study. Nonlinear finite element analysis was carried out on T-shaped short-limbed shear wall through the finite element calculation software ANSYS. The calculated top force-displacement curves agree well with that of experiments,which indicate that the nonlinear FEA model is reasonable. The results show that?axial compression ratio and the reinforcement ratio of the web have remarkable effect on the short-limbed shear wall 's mechanical properties.Some researches are provided as a reference for the future design.
