NONLINEAR FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF SEISMIC PERFORMANCE OF BAILIN TEMPLE PAGODA

  • The seismic response of Bailin Temple Pagoda was investigated by ANSYS software in this paper.The Solid 65 element and integral continuum model were applied,and stress-strain relationship of masonry structures was defined by the theory of multilinear kinematic hardening(MKIN) while creating the model.The result indicated that the lower floor of pagoda was prone to bring cracks and destroyed owing to larger tension stress,and top of pagoda was destroyed easily owing to excessive displacement.Finally reinforced measures were proposed with the hoop steel or carbon cloth.
