In early March of 2007,the northeast region in China encountered an unusual snowstorm,which caused a large number of light-weight steel structure engineering accidents.It is necessary to summarize and intruspect.An overall analysis on a certain mill building of light-weight steel structure with portal frame.It is introduced the damage condition and appraisal result,and summarized the accident causes,moreover,it is also described the scheme of strengthening and rehabilitation.The paper comes to the conclusion that accumulated snow effect of parapet and southern attached building in North area and secondary disasters produced in the process of snow cleaning are the causes,so as to give suggestions on the current design of light-weight steel structures.
