Through experiments on 10 reinforced concrete slabs bonded with thick and thin fireproofing coatings and plain cement mortar respectively,the corresponding temperature distributions of the three cases have been obtained under standard fire condition.The experimental results show that for the FRP strengthened concrete structures,the fireproofing effect by the thin fireproofing coating or plain cement mortar can be neglected.However,the thick fireproofing coating is effective in insulating the FRP strengthened concrete structures,and a formula for calculating the thickness of the fireproofing coating is proposed.
