THE STATE-OF-THE-ART OF CONCRETE-FILLED STAINLESS STEEL TUBULAR STRUCTURES

  • The innovative concrete-filled stainless steel tubular(CFSST) structures combine the advantages of both stainless steel and conventional concrete-filled steel tubular(CFST) structures.Therefore,excellent structural properties and corrosion resistant can be expected,and this construction has a good potential to be used in offshore buildings and bridges,as well as other specific buildings.It is briefly reviewed the present application and research on CFSST structures.The differences of structural and fire-resistant behaviour between CFSST structures and conventional CFST structures are summarized.To better use stainless steel,further research work on CFSST structures is discussed.
