FIRE DESIGN METHODS OF CONCRETE-FILLED STEEL TUBULAR COLUMNS

  • Based on the theoretical and experimental results on fire resistance of concrete-filled steel tubular columns with circular and square sections,two fire design methods,that is,coated fire protection and embedded bars in core concrete were discussed.the composite columns subjected to ISO-834 or GB 9978-88 Standard Fire.As a result,the corresponding simple expressions were given,such formulas were suitable for incorporation into building codes.The validity of the calculation formulas was established by comparing the calculated fire resistances with those obtained from theoretical model and fire tests.
