  • It is researched that the forced features of the joints of the multi-story spanned diagonal bracing system for Chengda Tower in Chengdu.Based on the results of overall structural analysis under various load cases, sectional forces in members, beams, columns and adjacent braces, relating to a certain joint are recorded. Typical joints are then modeled in details for the stress analysis using shell elements.According to the finite element analysis, several measures for joint design are proposed.Subsequent FE analysis indicates that strengthening techniques proposed in this study are feasible and efficient.
