The long-term mechanical properties of recycled aggregate concrete(RAC) are of great importance for insuring the construction quality and safety of buildings made with this material. For this reason, the development of mechanical properties of RAC of different strength grades over time was extensively investigated, mainly including the compressive strength, the tensile splitting strength, the flexural strength and the modulus of elasticity. The changing law of the long-term mechanical properties of RAC was analyzed and the adaptability of the predict method for the long-term mechanical properties of conventional concrete to RAC was evaluated. The test results indicated that the developments of the mechanical properties of RAC over time are different from that of conventional concrete.Higher strength and modulus of elasticity gain were observed for RAC.The predict methods for the long-term mechanical properties of conventional concrete are not suitable for RAC.Based on the test results in this paper, alternative predicting methods for the long-term mechanical properties of were proposed.
