EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON NEW TYPE BRACED FRAME STRUCTURE SUBJECTED TO CYCLIC LOADING

  • In this paper,a new type braced frame structure with a slip device is presented.Three specimens which have different angle of the brace are designed for low cyclic reversed lateral loading tests to verify the energy-dissipation capacity of the new type braced frame structure.The seismic energy dissipated ability between the new and normal type braced frame structures are compared based on the experimental and calculated results.The test result shows that the new type brace with the angle of 45 degree possesses excellent energy dissipation capacity.
