  • How to control the torsional response of structures under earthquake action is a problem frequently occurred in seismic design.The main objective of this paper is to present a reasonable numerical method for the time-history analysis of structures with viscous dampers,particularly those with irregular configurations,the supplemental damping matrix of structures with viscous dampers is incorporated into a general nonlinear dynamic analysis program,which can consider the effects of deformation of local floor and the propagation direction of earthquake excitations.Example is provided to validate the dynamic analysis method and observe the seismic mitigation effect of viscous dampers.The inner forces and deformation of structural members and viscous dampers can be given.
