DISTORTIONAL BUCKLING PERFORMANCE STUDY ON FLEXURAL MEMBERS WITH UPRIGHT AND INCLINED EDGE STIFFENERS

  • The distortional buckling performance of cold-formed C and Z section flexural members with upright and inclined edge stiffeners has been studied by finite element program of ANSYS.The results show that most of the bending strength of members with upright edge stiffeners is slightly higher than that of members with inclined edge stiffeners.And the bending strength of C and Z section members almost the same when the section parameters are the same.Comparison of the computed results with the results of direct strength method shows that most of the computed results are higher than that of direct strength method.
