  • The basic status of climatic design of residential pitched roof in the area of being hot in summer and cold in winter is analyzed.A pitched roof system of ventilation in summer as well as heat preservation in winter is proposed in the light of the passive solar energy principle.The test data indicate that this design method is effective on improving the thermal environment of pitched roof and can reduce the usage of non-renewable resource.
