EXPERIMENT ON SHEAR BEHAVIOR OF L-SHAPED SECTION BROAD-LIMB COLUMNS SUBJECTED TO LOW CYCLIC LOADING

  • On the basis of the experiment on shear failure of 11 L-shaped section broad-limb frame columns subjected to low cyclic loading, the influence of horizontal looading angle, embedded column and ratio of section width to height on its shear behavior has been analyzed as well a selements. shear failure mechanism. From the results it is indicated that L-shaped section broad-limb-columns have higher shear strength with oblique loads. The embedded column with proper bar would reinforce members. shear strength and ductility. The members. brittleness will rise with ratio of its section height to width increasing inthe process of shear failure.
