The 9 multibarrel tube- confined concrete column specimens with square hollow section in the outer and circular hollow section in the inner (SHS in the outer and CHS in the inner) were prepared, of which 6 concrete- filled square steel tubular specimens reinforced by inner circular steel tube and 3 concrete- filled double skin square steel tube specimens.The results show that the circular hollow section has a reinforced effect on concrete- filled square steel tubular specimens reinforced by inner circular steel tube.With the diameter of inner steel tube increased, the ultimate capacity of concretefilled double skin square steel tube columns is reduced soon.
