Even if structure, especially reinforced concrete columns, is not destroyed in the earthquake effect, but the residual deformations may be very large and there will be gigantic economic losses. The unbonded high-strength strand used in the concrete columns can minimize the residual deformations effectively. Some scholars abroad have conducted studies in this subject. The current situation of studying on the prestressed concrete columns is summed up, some factors that influence the performance of the columns are studied, and the developing direction is indicated by summarizing the conclusion of the studies.
