  • The applicabilities of several typical analysis methods for compatibility torsion are compared to each other.Applicable analysis methods must be chosen rationally for different structures. For prestressed concrete edge girders whichare subjected to great compatibility torsion, an analytical method based on variational stiffness is proposed which discountsthe component' s elastic stiffness based on the performance in different loading case. The effect of section positions of slabsand secondary beamswith edge girders is investigated. The effect of torsion carrying capacity owing to prestressedpressure ispresented.Crucial points for this kind of structure design are illuminated, combined with finite element analysis ofengineering examples
