The Chinese market of building strengthening is growing with the development of economy and the progress in society.Many technologies of building strengthening have been applied widely.The working mechanism, characteristics and application scope of some typical technologies of building strengthening are systemically discussed, such as structure member strengthened with reinforced concrete, structure member strengthened with changing system under stress, structure member strengthened with externally applied prestressing, structure member strengthened with externally bonded reinforced materials, etc.On the basis of which, the characteristics of the technologies are compared, and the method of technological and economic analysis for choosing proper building strengthening schemes is illustrated.
