A six-storey dwelling house in serious declination with 556 mm maximum drift of the roof plate due to the differential settlement of the foundation of the building has been rectified by strengthening with statically pressed bolt pile and digging through the foundation plate.The conceptual design method, the procedure of construction supervision and control,and the way to steady settlement of the foundation are recommended which may be a reference for engineering design and technology research.
