Load-deformation relationship curves of concrete filled double-skin steel tubes(CFDST) subjected to axial compression are analyzed by finite element analysis(using ABAQUS software). The outer steel tubes and the inner steel tubes are circular hollow sections(CHS).The predicted load versus deformation relationship curves are in good agreement with those of tests.Based on the finite element analysis, loads carried by the inner steel tubes, outer steel tubes and concrete respectively during the loading process,as well as interactions between them are analyzed. Finally, influences of hollow section ratio, nominal steel ratio and strength of the materials on the interactions between steel tubes and concrete are investigated.
