In order to meet the needs of the practical structural des ign, the iterative formula and tactics for the form finding of cable roofs are proposed. It is called as the modified force- density method. T he method is verified by s ome benchmark problems and big proj ects. Numerical examples s how that the modified method is very simple and efficient. It can be used to find the shape of various pretensioned cable roofs.
