By the axial compression tests of total of 6 reinforced concrete slender columns wrapped with fiber reinforced plastics(the column has elliptical section and slenderness ratio is from 4.5~17.15),the influence of slenderness on the stable bearing capacity of the column is studied.The results indicate:slenderness has more influence on the stable bearing capacity of FRP confined concrete column than RC column,when slenderness ratio is less than 17.5,the stable bearing capacity of FRP confined concrete column is still 20% higher than that of the RC column(confined ratio =0.188).Some factors that maybe influence stable factor are also discussed.At last,the simplified calculating formulas of stable factor are summarized,which can provide a reference for engineering designer.
