Abstract
Nine tests on short concrete-filled steel tubes (CFST) were carried out,including six specimens wrapped by fiber reinforced polymers (FRP) and three unwrapped ones.The experimental parameters were sectional shape,section size and layers of FRP jackets.The test results demonstrated that,the FRP-confined concrete-filled steel tubular stub columns with circular sections have the merits of both FRP-confined concrete and CFST stub columns.A simple formula,which can be used for calculating bearing capacities of FRP-confined concrete-filled steel tubular stub columns with circular sections is established.
