Abstract

Abstract

The accidents of soil nailing for foundation excavation in frost -susceptible areas in early spring are more than in other seasons.The soil nailing of Hangyao Building in Beijing was in danger when the lowest temprature was over 0℃.The main reason is the influence of the frost.With the help of Hangyao Building field measurement records,soil finite element program(PLAXIS) is used for calculation of horizontal deformation in construction and in thaw.The results indicate that frost may have significant influence on soil nailing.
