SIMPLIFIED ANALYSIS OF UNBRACED STEEL FRAME WITH SEMI- RIGID CONNECTION

  • The beam element stiffness matrix of semi-rigidly connected steel frames is derived by using a rotation spring?which has variable stiffness to model bending behavior of beam- column semi-rigid connection.And by introducing a modified?beam linear stiffness and a modified beam rotation stiffness respectively, the equivalent substitution rigidly connected frame?method and the non- shear force distribution method are applied in structural analysis of unbraced steel frame with semi-rigid?connections.Those two kinds of calculation methods are relatively simple and easy.
