Using different load-transfer functions for pile shaft and pile tip, the lateral soil shear modulus and strength are linearly fitted along the depth, based on which a set of analytical equations for axially loaded single pile in non-homogenous soil is set up. The solution can be used to analyze the load-settlement behavior of single pile. A simple method to determine the calculation parameter is proposed. Comparison between the results obtained from the proposed method and the load test showed the effectiveness of this method.
