  • The fatigue crack between the web and the upper flange of a welded steel crane beam for heavy duty service was discussed, and based on long??term observation and research, the author classified fatigue crack into support type and intercostal type crack along the horizontal direction. The cause, distributive law and mechanism of the crack were analyzed,and the measures to prevent and remedy crack were presented.
