The technique of adding extra- floors spanning existing building has many remarkable aspects on technology,economy and security. In order to extend application of this new structure, the paper introduces its structural system,design-specialities and calculational methods combining with a project example and puts forward some new suggestions to optimize structural design through a comparison of specific schemes.
