NONLINEAR RESPONSE AND SEISMIC DESIGN OF STRUCTURES BASED ON ELASTOPLASTIC DYNAMIC ANALYSIS

  • The nonlinear seismic response analyses of structures are reviewed, which include the analytic model of structure system, the element analytic model and its restoring force model and the solving of dynamic equations.Taking the plane frame model as an example for elastoplastic seismic response analyses of structure under two grades of earthquake input, the nonlinearities of structure are discussed, whose calculated results are also compared with those of the new seismic design code. Finally some advices of nonlinear seismic design of structures are suggested.
