INFLUENCE OF CONCRETE COMPACTION ON THE BEHAVIOR OF CONCRETE-FILLED STEEL RHS(RECTANGULAR HOLLOW SECTION) STUB COLUMNS

  • Tests on sixteen concrete-filled steel RHS(Rectangular Hollow Section) stub columns were reported. The main objective was to investigate the influence of concrete compaction on the section capacities and modulus of concrete-filled steel RHS stub columns. It was found that better compaction of concrete resulted in higher values of the section capacity and higher elastic modulus of concrete-filled steel tubes. The tests show the importance of good concrete compaction for concretefilled steel RHS stub columns.
