Three ways to calculate bearing capacities of steel composite beams are introduced, and then the shortcomings of them are pointed out. After that modified ways are provided and they are verified by test data, which is executed on a cantilever composite beams with web opening . It is evident that the modified ways are feasible. In the end other aspects of designing the composite beams with web opening are specified in a simple way.
