  • It is very difficult for longitudinal braces to find a place for some mill buildings because below certain elevation the space is occupied by production lines.This paper studies the buckling of columns for which no brace is provided below certain level, but above this level there exists cross-bracing.Three types of bracing layouts are analyzed, and tables of the column effective length coefficients are given, and approximate formulas are also suggested, which may be a reference for designers.
