  • Compared to the traditional structural materials, a carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) has advantages of light-weight, high-strength, long-maintenance and designable.Due to those properties, FRP is being used to develop CFRP pipes for the construction of the space frames.An experimental study on three groups of axially loaded CFRP pipes, which have different layers and lengths, is done to analyze the failure types and mechanism.Finally, advices on design are proposed of the CFRP pipes.
