  • The calculation methods of the stiffness of concrete filled circular steel tubes in different codes worldwide are introduced, which includes American Institute of Steel Construction(AISC)Load and Resistance Factor Design specification for structural building(LRFD), European Committee for Standardization(CEN) Eurocode 4Design of composite steel and concrete structuresPart 1 1:General rules and rules for buildings, Architectural Institute of Japan(AIJ)recommendations for design and construction of concrete filled steel tubular structures and the standards for structural calculation of steel reinforced concrete structures, Chinese design codes for the design of concrete\-filled circular steel tubes, which includes JCJ 01 89, CECS 28:90 and DL/T 5085 1999.The comparison is carried out for the different formulas of the stiffness in above codes and comments are made for the background of different stiffness formulas and their characters.
