Abstract:
The authors two standpoints are elaborated with the project design. In the first, the phenomenon of living creature multiply growth is amplified on the sustainable development principle. It is pointed out that the architecture growth should direct two ways, both available space, which reserves a development of building while doing a total planning; and agile space, which adapts for the buildings immutable structure system at inner part to multi-function. In the second, the design of the organic space is put forward. That is, integrating ChineseTao study and the nature and man unite as one study, which embodies by the Chinese traditional culture of building to principle of flow space, which, embodies by the western modernist. Base on this the design makes interior space and exterior space permeate mutually, and vary close space to open space.

2005, 35(10): 18-19. doi: 10.13204/j.gyjz200510006
Abstract:
It is not economic to set all the basement entrances in the main building and take up valuable areas of the first floor. To avoid this, you have to design some small structures which are detached from the main building. With proper and particular design, the small structures will not make you feel disorderly and unsystematic. They may be attractive features instead.

Wang Zhiliang, Zang Xueyi
2005, 35(10): 36-39. doi: 10.13204/j.gyjz200510012
Abstract:
The resistance from soft soil layers is smaller while piling in soft foundation. The stress wave will propagate along pile body when the pile head is stricken by hammer with a certain velocity. And it will turn into tensile waves when reflected at the bottom of pile. Thus, one tensile stress region on pile body will appear near pile bottom because of intervention between the incident waves and the reflect waves, which can cause pile to be fractured or spalled.Based on one dimensional wave theory, the primary discussion on this phenomenon is done with finite difference method, and some benefit conclusions and suggestions are obtained. In a way, they have definite reference value for engineers.

2005, 35(10): 43-46. doi: 10.13204/j.gyjz200510014
Abstract:
The embankment behind the abutment of a high-speed railway is different in the aspects of padding, construction control and quality supervision from the general railway. However, there is a little experimental research on the earth pressure behind abutment, and there are lots of factors to influence the earth pressure also, and the distribution of the earth pressure is not exact predicted through actual earth pressure theories. Therefore,a long-time site observation should be done.Based on the experiment results, the changing of the earth pressure with time and the height of embankment, the magnitude and distribution of earth pressures behind the abutment are analyzed.Test results show that the earth pressure behind abutment is nonlinearly following the depth of abutment. To begin with, the earth pressure of abutment is increased with the depth of abutment, yet after reaching a certain depth it decreased with the increase in depth abutment. The comparison is made between the results by formula and those with the experimental observations, the points of application of the resultant earth pressures have significant difference, the height of actual point of resultant earth pressure is 0.41 times of the embankment height.
