Abstract: It was presented that the aseismic appraisal method and checck on the original structure,overall calculation and feasibility analysis of story-adding structure,by taking the story-adding reform of a hotel．It was also given the structure of the story-adding concrete columns,detail of the joints between the added steel structure and the original concrete column and beam,as well as the methods to ensure the integrity and reliability between the new and old members．Angle steel-encasing,steel plate-gluing and section-increasing were used for the framed column and framed beam with insufficient capacities respectively in the original structure．The method to strengthen the joints,and matters needing attention during comstruction were presented．The project was completed in 2010 and was decorated into a five-star hotel,which has been used so far and excellent effect has been got．
