Abstract: An industrial workshop couldn't be checked and accepted by local government due to cracks by asymmetric settlement.The following factors are the main reasons of producing the workshop asymmetric settlement: the lack of precision on geological reconnaissance,the unsuitableness of pile type and collocation,the lack of bear the weight of part pile foundation,the poor quality of construction,nonstandard test.Accordingly,following countermeasures were put forward to reinforce and restrain settlement by static bolt-pressing pile to the ground with larger settlement,to treat beam crack by epoxy resin,to reinforce beam with wide crack by carbon fibre.
