Abstract: The preventive and remedial methods of cracks in masonry buildings in China are analyzed,and especially a focal account of the concept of release is also given.Meanwhile,based on the analysis of understandings of this concept both at home and abroad,and in light of the Regulations on Masonry Building Technology that is about to promulgate,the concrete designing notion towards cracks and requirements for the rate of reinforcing bar and connectors are proposed.
