Abstract: Establishing assessment and designation criteria for Chinese industrial heritage，to guide the systematic survey and designation of industrial heritages nationwide，is the key issue in the Chinese industrial heritage conservation． As the pioneer of worldwide industrial revolution，Britain possesses an advanced conservation system for its abundant and diverse industrial heritages． By looking into the designation criteria for industrial heritage in Britain， this paper aims to provide useful information in establishing Chinese industrial heritage designation criteria．
